Paul Reeves was born in the early 1960s at Walsall Wood in Staffordshire, but for more than two hundred years his ancestors forged strong affiliations with Walsall.
After thirty years service in the West Midlands Police, Paul retired as a successful investigator in 2016. During his career, most of which was as a detective, he wrote hundreds of evidential files for court.
Paul transferred the skills and experience from his profession into being an investigative researcher and historian. Using his detective skillset, he now writes books based on the historical clues he finds. Years of case building expertise and genealogical experience brings the characters in his books slowly back to life, as he put flesh back of the bones of their stories.
Paul’s books include, ‘Remember Me - The Life of A Walsall Lad’ (2021) ‘Walsall Borough Police and the Hotbed of Anarchy’ (2023), ‘Walsall Borough Police - 101 Historical Cases from 1832 to 1898’ (2023) and ‘Walsall Borough Police - A Theatre of Crime’ (2024)
