Michelle James

My name is Michelle James, I am currently a Case Manager earning my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Phoenix.I come from a adoptive home, with my biological mom dying when I was 4 years old, and being in foster care till I was adopted at 8 years old. I am a wife to my best friend and husband, and a mother to one boy, three daughters, and a grandmother to 5 grandkids.I have personal experiences of trauma and how trauma can affect a child, so with the motivation from my experiences, I would like to wrtie children books that will touch on real issues that children are faced with today. I will come out with a Dr. Mimi series that touch subjects like children with substance addiction parents, children that live in foster care, children that are raised by their grandparents, children that has to share visitations between parents, and many other subject that others are afraid to talk about. I believe that avoidance is not the answer but providing resources that will teach children how to cope with these realistic issues will help. I pray that my books with find comfort to mental health professionals and parents all over the world that are facing these related concerns.
