Susan Rutledge

Susan Rutledge, a graduate of Oklahoma State University, spent over thirty years working with children before retiring in 2011 to pursue her passion for writing.

"I've been writing every since I can remember. As a child, I was an avid reader and used to hide under my sheets with a flashlight so I could read after bedtime. I enjoy books and love to share my stories and enthusiasm for reading with others."

Children love reading her colorful, rhyming stories packed with interest and a relevant life message. Mrs. Rutledge enjoys speaking to children's groups about her books and is available for book readings, assemblies, classroom instruction and book signings.

In addition to publishing children's books, Susan has written prayer journals for youth, a training manual for creating pattern brushes in Adobe Illustrator and gift books that appeal to all ages.

"Critter Wisdom for Humans" is filled with adorable animals pictures and fun comments that give practical advice for living a happy life.

"Simple Words to Love By - 50 Ways to Keep Your Relationship Fresh and Strong" was dedicated to Susan's husband of 45 years. They started out as high school sweethearts, married and now have 4 married children and 11 grandchildren.

Susan regularly blogs about her life experiences as a mother and grandmother on susanrutledge.com. "I look back on those days and wonder where the time went. My children's children are growing up before my eyes. The days were long but the years were short. Hopefully I can encourage young mothers to enjoy the time they have with their children while they're young, and assure them they too will survive!"
