Mary Devine

Mary's career spans specialist and leadership roles in human resources and a significant part of her work and interest has focused on leadership development and especially at times of transition to a new role. With over 30 years of business experience Mary's work extends across the utilities and energy sector in Ireland having worked for ESB, ESB International (Electricity) and Ervia Group (Gas and Water) .

As a keen learner, Mary has continued to follow new avenues of learning that resonate with her former work in organisational life. This led her to carrying out research on the value of coaching for leaders at the time of transition to a new role.

The research was carried out at University College Cork in Ireland in 2017. The research has been shared as part of new research at Psychological Society of Ireland Conference(2017) and was also presented at the EMCC 9th International Mentoring, Coaching & Supervision Research Conference held at Oxford Brookes University, UK (2019). Her book 'Leadership Transition Coaching' shares the voices of leaders and the value of coaching for them when moving into a new role.

Mary is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), a member of the Coaching Psychology Special Interest Group at the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and a senior coach practitioner accredited by European Coaching and Mentoring Council (EMCC)
