MANOJ KUMAR LAL

Coming from a modest family of Karjapatti, Darbhanga, Bihar, India, I am proud of the rich cultural and literary heritage of Mithila and feel it in my blood. My books are the output of the fusion of my passion (12 years of dedication to knowledge management) and profession (24 years of experience in software engineering), and I am sure there is something of interest in it to the IT workforce and students aiming to join the IT industry. The book on business domain is of particular use to new entrants to the IT workforce as they directly feel the need for domain appreciation of the code they write and test cases they create and execute.

Learning domain knowledge is full of applying common sense. If a piece of information doesn’t make sense – it is either not correct or needs more information to appreciate it. The book exposes us to the common sense domain knowledge in a structured way and demonstrates how it can directly assist software development. The use of common sense will make you uncommon – you may get rewarded for reducing the number of test cases by 50% without compromising on test coverages just by applying the domain knowledge structure. It isn’t that the project team isn’t aware of the information within the structure but that you thought of it first. The more common sense information you gather, the more you increase the probability to rise to the occasion when there is a need.
