Cindy Folk

CINDY FOLK was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. She attended the University of Regina, majoring in finance, and participated in the co-operative education program, which took her to work terms in Toronto and Ottawa. After university, she moved to Ottawa, where she competed in rowing and had the opportunity to explore Eastern Canada and the United States. In 1998, Cindy returned to Regina, where she met and married her husband, Dan. They now have three children.

Despite working in a structured environment, Cindy always had a creative side waiting to be discovered. Writing has allowed that part of her to flourish. Alongside her writing, Cindy enjoys a full life with her family, engaging in sports, art, and travel, which continually inspire her narratives.

Her debut novel, Northern Escape, marked the beginning of her journey as an author. River Retreat, her second novel, continues her passion for storytelling. The joy she has found in writing is something she wants others to experience. This desire led her to write Dip Your Toes In, Then. . . Write Your Book With Confidence, giving new writers the self-assurance and tools to pursue their dream of writing a book. To further encourage writers, she also wrote Make a Splash Self-Publishing: Test the Waters Before Diving In, providing aspiring authors with a guide to navigating the process and the belief that anyone can do it.
