MB Dabney

MB Dabney is an award-winning retired journalist whose writing has appeared in numerous local and national publications. While working at The Philadelphia Tribune, the nation's oldest continuously published Black newspaper, he won awards for editorial writing. He has published numerous short mystery stories, and co-edited three mystery anthologies, including Scenic and Sinister: Featuring Indiana Landmarks (May 2026). Michael also co-wrote and co-produced DEADBEAT, a one-act play that debuted at the Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival in 2018.

PURSUIT OF THE JADE EMPRESS is the latest in his David Blaise Mystery series, following A DEADLY GAME and his debut novel, AN UNTIDY AFFAIR.

Michael has two adult daughters, and a son-in-law, and lives in Indianapolis with his wife, Angela.
