Dr. Cheri Langley, PhD, MPH, CHES, is a Christian author, public health scholar, and educator whose life and work are grounded in faith, intentional reflection, and service. She writes to inspire readers to slow down, give thanks, and consider what God has done in their lives. Dr. Langley’s writing spans children’s reflective poetry to books that create space for dialogue on identity, belonging, and resilience, including Dear Black Boy and Dear Black Girl.
For over two decades, Dr. Langley has worked with socially disadvantaged populations, particularly Black adolescents and their families. Her professional experience spans infectious disease prevention, HIV/AIDS and STI awareness, youth risk behavior, and community-based participatory research. Her commitment to equity and community engagement undergirds both her academic and creative work.
A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Dr. Langley believes intentional reflection creates space to recognize God’s presence, hear His voice more clearly, and remember His faithfulness across seasons. She and her husband of 16 years are raising two children—an 11-year-old daughter and a 9-year-old son—while pursuing work that promotes healing, justice, and hopeful living.
