Kerry Garvin

Kerry Garvin is Harvard University’s 2020 Thomas Small Prize Recipient, awarded annually at Harvard’s Commencement for both character and academic achievement. In 2020, she graduated with a Dean’s Award of Achievement from Harvard University's Extension School with a Master’s of Liberal Arts in Creative Writing and Literature. She also earned her Bachelor’s of Liberal Arts in Psychology from Harvard University (Extension). In 2021, she co-founded Harridan and Strumpet Books, a womxn-author-run publishing collective with a passion for progressive art that pushes established bounds and publishes voice-driven, high-quality books that represent a diverse array of writers. Ms. Garvin’s first book, What Doesn’t Kill Her: Women’s Stories of Resilience, a collection of sixty triumphant survival stories written by a diverse array of women, was published on June 15, 2021. She works as a writer, literary editor, and college instructor of Creative Writing and Literature while living in the mountains Western North Carolina.
