Ken Verderame

Ken Verderame has been writing semi-professionally for the last 25 years. During the late 1990s he was a regular contributor to the nationally syndicated magazine 'Sport Fishing' and has also authored three books. During 2016 he wrote a 5-part series for the magazine "Front Sight" and due to its popularity, in 2017, he began writing a regular column for the magazine entitled 'Steel Challenge Shooting Corner" which he continues today.

His first book, published in 2000; called "Blackjack: Secrets Of The Pros" was an instructional manual for becoming a better casino blackjack player. The second printing of this book was available by late 2017.

His 2nd book, titled, "The Little Red Book Of Government Platitudes", is a collection of the most often-heard platitudes espoused by government employees involved in the military acquisition business and includes his unique (if somewhat sarcastic) interpretation of what they actually mean as only an insider could provide.

His 3rd work; "Do You Feel The Need For Speed?" is the the first shooting training manual dedicated solely to the practical shooting sport of Steel Challenge. As a nationally ranked competitive shooter, he decided to write this book to share the training program he developed to become a Steel Challenge Grand Master and help pass on the wisdom and insights he's gained during his shooting development.

His 4th book is titled: "The Game Within The Game: Mastering The Steel Challenge Mental Game". This book is designed to help competitive shooters overcome common mental mistakes during competition and is a follow-on to his successful technical skills training manual.

His 5th book, "Do You Still Feel The Need For Speed", is the 2nd edition of his original Steel Challenge training manual and contains 40 new pages of new chapters, updated chapters and additional drills.

His latest book, "Cruise Ship Astronomy" has just been released. He is a recently retired astro physicist and prior NASA Space Shuttle astronaut flight control/propulsion instructor and is now working as a cruise ship enrichment lecturer and Viking Cruises Resident Astronomer. To help cruise guests to discover the wonders of the universe he has written this book which provides a detailed, yet easily understandable background in basic visual astronomy techniques and equipment.

His first and second books were written under the pen name 'Roland A. Nimitz'
