Leeanne Splatt

Leeanne Splatt comes from Melbourne, Australia and now lives in a small coastal village in Japan with her husband Peter and two small dogs, Mocha & Teddy.

Leeanne has been creating art with marine debris since 2019 to promote awareness of the growing plastic pollution issue.

Her art featured in a week-long exhibition held at the world’s largest Muji store in Naoetsu, Japan, highlighting the disparity between the gifts we receive from nature and the plastic pollution we return to nature.

In 2021 she co-founded the Marine Friends Project and wrote “Art for the Environment”, a dual language booklet featuring her beach art, to inspire school children. The Marine Friends Project

is supported by the Itoigawa Board of Education.

Leeanne is currently collecting more beach plastic for characters in the next edition of

Robot & Boo, the beach cleaning crew.
