Gene M. Kerns

Gene is a third-generation educator with teaching and administrative experience ranging from elementary school through the university level. He currently serves as Vice President and Chief Academic Officer at Renaissance Learning.

With more than two decades of experience leading staff development and speaking at national and international conferences (e.g. ASU/GSV Summit on Innovation, SXSW EDU), Gene's clients include administrators associations across the US, London's Westminster Education Forum, the Ministry of Education of Singapore, and the Global Education Technology Forum of China.

Gene received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Longwood University in Virginia and also holds a Doctor of Education degree (Ed.D.) from the University of Delaware with an emphasis in educational leadership.
