Isaac “Ike” Reed – The Story Hustler

Before the world was talkin’ about “cinematic universes,” Ike Reed was out here building them. Writer, creator, and full-time imagination mechanic, Ike co-founded Lion Forge Comics in 2011 with his brother Carl Reed and David Steward II — way before “diversity in comics” became a press release. While most folks were still stapling print books, Ike was over at Brainfreeze Interactive, learning how to make pixels dance. Then he took that digital game to Lion Forge, built their digital division from scratch, and helped spark a new era of “Comics for Everyone.”

His fingerprints are on some of Lion Forge’s most acclaimed work — Quincredible, the invincible teen hero reppin’ St. Louis; Trimaxx, a mind-bending sci-fi thrill ride; and ODB: Oddities, Discord & B-Sides, a wild graphic odyssey through the legacy of Ol’ Dirty Bastard himself. Ike blends hip-hop, sci-fi, and street smarts like a DJ flipping philosophy over a boom-bap beat.

And when PBS came calling, Ike showed up clean-cut and clever, helping write and shape Drawn In, the animated series teaching kids to read and dream big. Yeah, the man who gave you superhero philosophy also gave your kids Saturday morning wisdom. That’s range.

Then, because he doesn’t know how to sit still, Ike launched Big Fat Hero, a “Geektainment Developer” bridging geek culture, podcasts, and storytelling innovation — proof that creativity and hustle can share the same coffee mug.

Today, Ike is Creative Director at Composition Media, back in the lab with his brother Carl, crafting the next wave of transmedia storytelling. If the future of culture had a production credit, it’d probably say: “Written and Produced by Isaac ‘Ike’ Reed.”

Because let’s be honest — the man doesn’t just make stories. He makes worlds you want to live in.
