Margaret Bennett

MARGARET BENNETT comes from a family of singers and musicians, Gaelic on her mother’s side and Scots on her father’s. A visit to the School of Scottish Studies Archive inspired her post-graduate research in Folklore at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She lectured at the School of Scottish Studies from 1984 to 1996 and now teaches part-time at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She has written ten books and contributed to over 40, all drawing from fieldwork recordings.
