David has been a professional horticulturalist for over 40 years. He is a national garden and nature television presenter. He is a Fellow of the London Colleges of Horticulture, a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture, a Fellow of the Warwickshire Colleges of Horticulture and a Fellow of the Linnean Society.
David is a decorated Horticulturalist has received a total of 34 Royal Horticultural Society medals, including RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold medals and Best in Show Trophies, for his gardens, floral displays, and scientific exhibits.
In 2018, David was selected by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh Prince Edward to receive the Award of Excellence in Horticulture. David is a former Royal Horticultural Society non-exec Commercial Board Director, an Ambassador for the Chartered Institute of Horticulture, a Patron of The Birmingham Botanical Gardens, a Patron of Pollinating London Together, a Patron of The British Hedgehog Preservation Society, and Patron for Green fingers, a charity which builds gardens in children’s hospices. David is also an Ambassador for the Royal Society of the Protection of Birds and Ambassador for the national charity ‘Thrive’, which helps those who are living with disability through social and therapeutic horticulture.
David’s book, ‘My Houseplant Changed My Life’ surrounding the topic of indoor plants improving physical and mental wellbeing, is a bestseller.
