Kate is a professional fun fact finder who is constantly on the hunt for the most amazing info on Earth. This search includes exploring everything from the world’s longest line of rubber ducks to sea slugs that can photosynthesize, castles carved into caves to the donut shape of a giant squid's brain, and even birds that smell like tangerines. As a result, Kate has amassed (what she feels) is the largest collection of incredible, gross, out-of-this-world, and just plain wacky fun facts ever Besides sharing these tidbits at parties, she put them into a beautiful book called Palace of Facts from What on Earth!, a series called FACTopia! from What on Earth and Britannica Books, plus an award-winning radio show that she hosted on SiriusXM called The Weird But True Show!
In addition to being an author, Kate has spent more than fifteen years in publishing as a children's book editor. She is a co-founder of a book production business called WonderLab Group, creating books for publishers like Scholastic, Highlights Press, Penguin Random House, DK, and more. Before starting WonderLab, Kate was an executive editor for National Geographic Kids, where she edited titles on everything from fiction stories starring overzealous hamsters, guides on how to communicate with your dog, and even serious biographies about primate scientists.
Kate lives in Portland, Oregon, where she is inspired by all the beautiful and very weird stuff that surrounds her.
