Dr. Shareeda Tyaire is the author of the “It’s going to be okay” series. As a young biracial girl and ACOA (Adult Children of Alcoholics), she experienced many traumatic events during her childhood. This series was born out of her desire to help children understand that they are not alone, it’s not their fault, and it’s going to be okay. Her professional experience involves treatment of adults and children for addictions and childhood trauma. She currently operates Bruised and Unbroken (bruisedandunbroken.com), a site devoted to the healing of all individuals. Dr. Tyaire resides in Maryland with her husband, writer Priest Tyaire, their children, and a boxer named Bo.
Dr. Shareeda Tyaire is the Founder of Bruised and Unbroken. Bruised and Unbroken provides a service dedicated to taking a holistic approach to the wellness of individuals of all ages. She is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with a Doctorate in Human Services, a Master’s degree in Administration of Criminal Justice with a concentration in Criminal Behavior, and a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. She has worked as an Addictions Therapist and as an Intensive Outpatient Addictions Therapist . She managed and ran the adolescent program for youth with addictions and trauma. Dr. Tyaire has also worked as Psycho Forensic Evaluator, where she completed forensic assessments and evaluations on children, adolescents, and adults to assist in determining the best treatment options, with direct experience with juvenile sexual offenders. It was through these professional experiences and some personal experience that she writes children's books directed towards traumatic events that take place in a child's life, which can have long term effects if not addressed.
Throughout her career, Dr. Tyaire has worked with a broad spectrum of client populations. She has experience with adults, children, adolescents, co-occurring treatment, individual, and group counseling. She specializes in working with those who struggle with childhood trauma, addictions, relationship conflict, and family of origin issues. She particularly enjoys working with the youth, adolescents, and female populations. Her holistic approach is tailored to the needs of her clients, focusing on problem resolution, triggers, and helping clients to establish and reach their goals. She believes that everyone can rise above adversity and heal, and she is ready to guide and coach you through that process.
