Dennis King, Ed. D. is a consultant with experience in alternative education in urban and suburban school districts. He has served as a classroom teacher, curriculum and instruction assistant principal, high school principal, executive director of school improvement and assistant superintendent of school improvement. As a high school principal and assistant principal, Dennis implemented the PLC process for school improvement at both the school and district levels, which resulted in outstanding achievement gains leading Blue Valley High School and Blue Valley School District receiving model school status. During his seven-year tenure at Blue Valley High School in Overland Park, KS, the National Staff Development recognized for its 12 Under 12 Network. As an assistant superintendent of school improvement for Blue Valley School District, Dennis was responsible for implementing the PLC process in all the districts 32 schools. The district aligned the PLC process with its strategic plan for systemic plan for systemic implementation, and all the schools' achievement gains on both the state and national levels reached all-time highs. The American Productivity and Quality Center and Data Quality Center recognized Blue Valley as one of 12 best practice districts in the United States. Dennis also works with schools and districts in the areas of assessment and RTI at Work throughout North America.
Dennis has written for national staff development publications and has contributed to The Collaborative Teacher, The Principal as Assessment Leader and It's About Time (Secondary).
Dennis received his Master's Degree in from the University of Kansas and his doctoral degree from Saint Louis University
