Kelly Day

Kelly Day is an Australian author living in Essex, England where she is a home educating mum, blogger, children’s author, and creator of practical digital resources for parents.

She writes the *Mixy the Garden Detective* series, cosy mystery stories for children aged 5 to 8. Mixy is a curious cat detective who, along with her friends Pip and Fern, investigates the small mysteries happening around their garden. There are miniature railways, animal adventures, quiet magic, and plenty of things that really ought to be investigated immediately.

When she isn’t writing children’s books, Kelly writes the *Plots, Plans and Parenthood* blog and creates resources through McDay Designs for families of children with SEND, home educators, and parents trying to keep track of the ridiculous amount of paperwork that seems to come with family life.

Much of her work comes from lived experience of disability, frequent hospital stays, home education, neurodivergence, and discovering that apparently nobody gives you an instruction manual for any of it.

She lives in Essex with her family, where most of her book ideas arrive while she is supposed to be doing something considerably more sensible.
