Marta Bartolj

I was born in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, in 1979. From a young age, I have a passion for drawing and painting. In 2016, I completed a Master’s degree in Illustration at the Academy of Art and Design at the University of Ljubljana. For my master’s thesis (Summa Cum Laude), I received the Academy’s student award.

The book *Kje si?* (published by Miš Publishing and translated as *Every Little Kindness* in the US, Chronicle Books), which resulted from my master’s thesis, has earned me several achievements. Some of these include The White Ravens, the Ezra Jack Keats Honor, a Special Prize at the Kristina Brenkova Awards, a Shortlist for the 55th Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition, Finalist for the BIBF Ananas Illustration Award, Beijing and others.

I am represented by the Stimola Literary Studio agency. My agent is Allison Hellegers.
