Pat Gatz

Pat Gatz - "Little Eagle" - is First Nation Nishnabi. Canada's records say Algonquin. He is a hunter, author and outdoorsman from Eagle Village First Nation - Kipawa (Kebaowek), in Abitibi-Temiscamingue, Quebec. He grew up in Northern Ontario, where the isolated forests and thick marshes run for miles until the eye can't see.

He took his first small game at six years old and has hunted the bush for more than thirty years. For Pat, hunting is not a sport but a way of feeding a family and staying tied to the land: "Hunting is a way to connect to wonderful, peaceful and beautiful mother nature, and a key to true happiness."
