Made in England, during the 2nd world war and taken without consent to India in 1945. My family that is Mother, Father, and my dog Jimmy, a fantastic `Golden Cocker Spaniel` who had no reservations about sharing everything with me including his kennel. I could always be found fast asleep with my best and dearest friend. I mention briefly that Jim received a medal for bravery but, that is another story.
Enjoyed India, I went to school there and nearly died there. The Army saved my life but the convalescence in the recovery home was run by Nuns who applied the (or else) punishment with hairbrush across the knuckles. However, Mother told me that she removed me mainly because of the flies and that I had actually proclaimed to have seen Jesus.
Shortly after that in 1946; just before partition, we sailed to Brisbane Australia, where we took up residence and I joined another school.
Mother decided to leave Australia (reasons unknown) to return to U.K. I joined another three schools, one of which was Military. From there I joined the RAOC/REME at Black down.
During this period, I was introduced to Major Ted Massy. Who was later seconded to Cyprus and Murdered there in 1964. I was shocked to learn the details when I passed through the Mediterranean on my way back to Australia; I had joined P&O lines as a musician. `` Another story``.
After a wonderful life cruising. I returned to U.K. and later joined the R.A.F. where I discovered Libya for three years. I married in the seventies and lived in Greece; for twelve years. I have also lived in Spain and am well-travelled throughout Europe and the near East.
As a Musician, Artist and Author I now enjoy a peaceful life in Cambridgeshire, writing and painting.
Regrets: No, except it took many years to learn that I was actually dyslexic. But then if people had known years ago about Dyslexia, my life would have been totally different, and I honestly would not like to change anything.
