Jinny Webber

After publishing three novels set in Shakespeare's England featuring the historical actor Alexander (Sander) Cooke, who in her version was born female, Jinny Webber has penned the very different gender-focused novel, SERPENT VISIONS. Set in Bronze-Age Greece, it reimagines the myth of Teiresias, the gender-switching seer who, after seven years as a woman, becomes the blind seer in the tragedies of Oedipus and his descendants. A year's Fulbright teaching grant in Cyprus, studies of mythology and Mother Goddess religion, and her longtime fascination with the mythic realms led to filling in the gaps in the enigmatic tale of Teiresias. Enhanced by travels to Greece and its islands and two writing retreats there, she recreated this ancient history fictionally.
