Juliette Clancy lives and works as a psychotherapist in London, England, She is blessed to have three grown up daughters and two granddaughters who have each enriched her life in deep and meaningful ways. This, her first book, was written during the initial lockdown a result of COVID-19, 2020.
It is a book that can be dipped in and out of, or read in chunks, as each short chapter covers some of the many topics that arise not only in the therapy room, but appear in each of our lives at various times.
It is a useful book for all age groups and along with being read alone it can also be a valuable book for book clubs or to take chapters for discussion in group work.
The pages contain what she has learned from her own experiences as a psychotherapist as well as observations made whilst working with some of her clients. It is a book that weaves stories, poetry and contemplations to lead each reader into a place of introspection. Juliette is passionate about her work and grateful for each client who has honoured her with their trust, vulnerability and awe inspiring willingness to reach into dark places and speak their truth.
In addition to her love of her work one of Juliette’s other passions is to travel and challenge herself physically. She has travelled extensively all over the world, often alone, relishing in the peace that aloneness offers especially whilst in nature.
Many of her trips have asked her to dig deep both mentally and physically. As well as climbing mountains such a Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, she has also walked to the North Pole and trained as a Genghis Khan warrior in Mongolia amongst many other experiences.
Whether working with her clients, travelling, being with friends or family she is aware that each, in their own way have made her into the woman she is today.
