Ashwitha Jayakumar has loved stories all her life, especially ones set in different times and worlds. After graduating with a master’s degree in Literature and Society: 1688–1900 from the University of Edinburgh, she taught English literature to secondary school students and worked in publishing before completing an MA in medieval studies from the University of Leeds.
She is the author of over a dozen books for young readers, including the award-winning The Book of Emperors: An Illustrated History of the Mughals. She is also the co-founder of Indian Summer Press, an independent publisher of comics and graphic novels.
