Nicholas Browning

Dr. Browning works as an associate professor at Indiana University’s Media School, where he teaches several undergraduate and graduate courses in public relations. He has more than a decade of experience teaching PR writing at the University of Louisville, the University of Georgia, and of course, IU.

Outside the classroom, he serves as associate editor of the Journal of Public Relations Research, the field’s preeminent academic journal. He is the founding director of IU’s Strategic Communication Research Lab, a collaborative effort among students and faculty to produce high-quality, original scholarship.

His primary research interests include business and communication ethics, corporate social responsibility, organizational advocacy, and reputation and relationship management. His scholarship has been published in several respected outlets, including the Journal of Public Relations Research, Public Relations Review, Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, and the Journal of Media Ethics.
