Joe Phillips

I was born in 1948 and grew up with one sibling, a brother Jim, in Troy, New York, attended Catholic Central High School in Troy, New York, Siena College in Loudonville, New York and the State University of New York at Albany. My wife and I raised our children in Clifton Park, New York. I worked 33 years for the Internal Revenue Service, starting as a Tax Auditor, promoted to Appeals Officer and ultimately as Appeals Associate Chief. I taught Economics, as an Adjunct Professor at both Hudson Valley Community College and Schenectady Community College, concurrently to my government employment. I had a wedding videography business, and was a licensed Real Estate Agent in both North Carolina and Georgia. I was married to the same woman, Pamela Modesti Phillips, for 47 years prior to her passing in March of 2021. Blessed with two of the most wonderful sons on the planet, Joe and Matt, along with my incredible daughters-in-law, Lindsey and Torey, I am Grandpa to one teenage girl, Sammy and one on the verge, Natalie, living in Virginia, along with three grandsons, Nathaniel, Benjamin and Owen in Sandy Springs, Georgia. I enjoy reading and writing, taking online college courses, Ragtime piano, both playing and listening, hiking, camping and traveling. My musical tastes run from Bluegrass and Heavy Metal to Classical. A life long fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team and a since Stephen Curry arrived, Golden State Warriors fan in basketball, I follow these teams rather closely. I lived in Greensboro, Carolina from 1998 to 2012 and currently reside in Buford, Georgia which is about 40 miles north of downtown Atlanta.
