Paul Brown was educated at Harvard College and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, is a board-certified Internist, and spent 45 years at the National Institutes of Health in a Nobel Prize-winning laboratory focused on the field of transmissible dementias. Following retirement in 2004, a long-standing interest in meteorology led him to Montgomery College, first as a student of his co-author and then as a teacher at both Montgomery and Berea Colleges. He currently teaches adults in university-sponsored continuing education programs, where he is appreciated both for his sense of humor and his ability to explain the weather in terms that can be understood by the general public.
