I am Don Robinson. I was raised in the South, a product of lower middle class Georgia. I persevered through public school desegregation, school changes, and community disruption. As I matured, each of my parents underwent battles with cancer. I found solace and direction through mentors in my high school and went on to Mercer University via scholarship assistance. With a lot of work, I made it through medical school, residency, and the Air Force. I entered private practice as an Ob/Gyn in Bainbridge, GA in 1987. Along with my wife and two children, we built a practice and a life in rural southwest GA.
My practice grew, my community reputation flowered, and my family prospered. I was in a very stable, if challenging, life. When the day occurred that I suffered a head injury, that all began to change. The stability and assurance I had known became shifting sand. I was confronted with perceptual distortions, physical imbalances, and needs! With the support of medical professionals, my family, and my nuclear professional staff, I was able to survive and continue my work. My spiritual growth and understanding allowed me to take this challenge and turn it into growth. With physical and spiritual healing, over the course of over a decade, I was able to actually become thankful for what had happened to disrupt my path. My book was written because I felt led to share hope with those still in the process of healing. One must have a path, to be able to follow it!
