Eldar Maksymov

Eldar Maksymov grew up in Ukraine—part of the Soviet Union until 1991. This background gave him a deep appreciation for the importance of free capital markets and mechanisms that ensure their proper functioning. After working as an auditor at Deloitte for five years, he earned his Ph.D. in Accounting at Cornell University and joined ASU in 2014, where he teaches auditing at undergraduate and graduate levels both in-person and online, using his solo-authored textbook that has been adopted by major universities. Since 2014, Eldar has been a faculty member at Arizona State University. He is a tenured Professor of Accounting.
