Virginia born and bread, I come from a Navy family as well as married Navy and moved with our three children in tote to various duty stations including Maine and Florida. Now residing in a quaint country town back home with our fur babies where I write in my free time. I have always had a strong passion for muscle cars and as a child I could tell what type of car it was by the exhaust sound, or look at the front end and know the semantics. My mother would tell me how I'm a girl and should act it and leave cars for the boys, as she wanted a frilly girl and that just was not me. That never set well with me and I refused to let go of horsepower and my desire to drive one some day. I was what many called a "Tom Boy", I never liked dolls or dresses, I played with toy cars and went to auto parts stores with my dad. The first car show I attended had me hooked at the tender age of seven and has been an endearing love ever since. I decided at a young age to change the perception of girls that love muscle cars as well as embrace this uniqueness. I dealt with bullying just as the characters in my book. As an adult, we are in a time where women are accepted more so in the car world, though there are still stereotypes and room for improvement, times have changed for the better. I have many amazing female car friends that have changed industry standards empowering women all over. I have passed on my passion for muscle cars to my daughter and she gets out in the garage and turns a wrench along side of me and it's such an honor. I am truly blessed.
