Mr. Robert Gribbin

Now mostly retired, I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya, then served for thirty-five years in the U.S. Foreign Service, including postings in fifteen African countries and on delegations to the UN general Assembly and UN Human Rights Commission. I wrote a book - In the Aftermath of Genocide: the U.S. Role in Rwanda - about my experiences as U.S. Ambassador in Rwanda (1996-99) and an earlier novel - State of Decay - set in the Central African Republic, where I was also ambassador. I also wrote Murder in Mombasa, a mystery set in Kenya. Following was The Last Rhino, a conservation epic, which takes place in the Congo, and then The Serpent of the Nile, an adventure story set in South Sudan. My novel Finding Kony, is a tale relating the horrors of the Lord's Resistance Army and its messisanic leader Joseph Kony. My African Anthology is compendium of ancedotes and stories from the continent. My latest, Freida's Secret, is the story of Emin Pasha's daughter as she walks across Africa in 1899, her subsequent life in Germany, her African secret is finally discovered. she I post many reviews of books about Africa on my blog.
