Chris Martin

Chris Martin was born in Arkley a small Hertfordshire village just north of London and while still at school had a weekend job at local racing driver John Britten’s garage. He then graduated through the motor trade in London, and after an apprenticeship with a Ford dealership and a spell with an Alfa Romeo agency he started working on racing cars. Building various formula cars and Indycars through the 1980s he then spent ten years working for the Arrows and Stewart Formula One teams followed by three years as an R&D engineer with Jaguar Racing before relocating to Australia and taking up writing and photography, contributing to various car magazines and websites. A member of The Society of Automotive Historians, the Guild of Motoring Writers and at the time of writing Chris serves as President of the Australian Motorlife Museum. He lives on the coast south of Sydney with his wife Karen and various Amilcar and Model T Ford projects.
