John VanDusen

After earning a degree in Elementary Education and being commissioned as a Second lieutenant, John deployed as a military police and infantry platoon leader in Baghdad, Iraq. Returning home, he seamlessly blended teaching, and coaching, while continuing his military service.

Currently an 8th-grade U.S. History teacher in Kingsford, Michigan, John's dynamic life extends to coaching football and instructing for the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In 2023 he was selected as the Traning and Doctrine Command (TRADOC-USAR) Instructor of the Year.

John enjoys spending time with his wife and son while exploring the beautiful upper peninsula of Michigan and northern Wisconsin. His hobbies include a variety of shooting sports, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
