Neil Loewe

Neil is a retired police officer with the City of Des Plaines, Illinois, USA. He started that job at age 22 in 1978, witnessed traumatic incidents during that time, and dealt with stress that continued long after he retired. His short stories have been featured in both local and national publications and he has taught a memoir writing class through a local library. His first book, "What I Couldn't Leave Behind: My Career as a Cop," covers his career and it's aftermath.

He believes in adopting rescued dogs, and has experienced first-hand the healing power that those Angels bring to the lives of people who take them in.
