Genevieve Dawn

Genevieve Dawn Skidmore, a member of her mother’s South Dakota, Oglala Lakota Sioux Tribe, serves as Executive Director of NAOMI House - an emergency shelter for Native American children in need since 2004.

After encountering the devastating effects of addiction, domestic violence and hopelessness she left South Dakota a battered and broken young women. What she didn’t know was the dramatic and life-changing encounter with God awaiting her there.

Knowing first-hand the power of God to deliver from darkness, she is passionately equipping others to find freedom and discover purpose.

As a non-profit director, public speaker, author, and child advocate Genevieve is raising much needed awareness regarding Native American children today and the need for safe houses on reservations.

Genevieve was married in 2008 and resides in Arizona with their 13 year-old daughter, Shenoa and 8 year-old daughter, Aliza. Her son Josh, (25) is an Army Veteran and Police Officer.

With a passion to see people functioning in their God-given purpose, and fullness of redemption, Genevieve understands that it is ONLY by the transforming power of Jesus Christ that she has tapped into hers.
