Daniel Lewer

Dan Lewer is a teacher, curriculum developer, author, and content creator who has taught history at a Title I public school in Hawai‘i for sixteen years. He was named the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History’s 2020 Hawai‘i History Teacher of the Year and has collaborated with educators and schools across the country. Through his History For Humans platform, Dan creates story-driven videos, curriculum, and classroom resources that help teachers bring history to life for their students. He is available for speaking engagements and professional development workshops focused on increasing student engagement, strengthening historical thinking, and preparing students for citizenship.
