Daniel Lewer

Dan Lewer was born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey. He now lives and teaches in Hawai’i. He has taught history at Honoka’a High and Intermediate School for 11 years and loves working with students and learning alongside them. He has traveled all over the country visiting and learning from award-winning teachers in public, private, and charter schools. In 2020, he was named the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History Hawai’i History Teacher of the year. He also runs an online education program and Youtube channel, History For Humans, www.history4humans.com that provides engaging story-based lectures and lessons for students and teachers.
