Andy Winrow

Andy Winrow grew up in Wigan and currently lives in Liverpool, in the north of England, with his beautiful wife Louise and magical son, Alby. He has worked as a PE teacher since 2004 following a love of sport throughout his life. The birth of Alby in 2016 ignited Andy's excitement and passion for reading and predominantly with his son. Every day they would read together and it led to many evenings of creating rhyming stories about anyone and anything.

Alby helped to create the character of "Captain Magic Beard" as he would often scratch Andy's beard and say "dad you have a magic beard". One day over Christmas in 2019, Andy and Alby were playing pirates and the magical young boy said he was to be called "Captain Magic Beard" in his amazing pirate voice. The idea was born and off Andy went to write the books.

A magical character born out of fun and love, has allowed a Dad and his magical son to go on a magical journey together. Everyone is welcome to join them!
