With a list of hobbies and interests as long as your imagination, you’d think Don Gordon Pierson might settle into early retirement with enough to keep himself busy. But in 2010 he discovered the world of self-publishing and designed Eighty-eight Keys, a collection of some of the poetry and song lyrics he created over the years.
Then, in 2014, the bug to try something else bit hard. He spent three years studying the art of writing fiction, and in 2018 published his first novel, AMBIGUOUS. Two years later, in the midst of the pandemic, The uN-NATURAL AGING PROCESS appeared, a coming-of-age mystery story reflective of the place and time he grew up. Most recently, THE TWELVE SISTERS, a mystery/thriller set in Italy, was published with co-author David Thompson Dorris.
“Writing fiction is the most interesting and challenging thing I’ve ever attempted. The ideas and the possibilities are endless. It’s hard work, but it’s a blast. I read about forty novels per year, and now every story I read is refracted through the lens of what I’ve learned about writing and contributes to my growth.”
Don is also the singer-songwriter on the compact disc Another Man's Treasure, a collection of fourteen Americana songs. A retired technical manager who enjoys finger-style guitar, abstract painting, tai chi, photography, and travel, he has homes in the greater Philadelphia area and in Montserrat island.
