James Rey Sanchez

James Rey Sanchez grew up in a humble home in Santa Maria, California, where his love for art came from countless hours of reading comics, playing video games, and 90's Saturday morning cartoons. James graduated from the Academy of Art University of San Francisco in 2017 with a BFA in Visual Development.

James has freelanced in the animation world, most notably at Class Dojo, before jumping into children's books. Receiving a Sydney Taylor Notable Award for his first children's book, a Kirkus Star, and SLJ Star. He is currently signed as a Children's Book Illustrator at Bright Agency in the publishing division working on Kid's Books, Educational Stories, and Graphic Novels.
