Affirming and being the woman she once needed. Brittany Johnson (She/Her) began her journey in child development at a young age. At the mere age of fourteen, Brittany became a Junior Counselor at the Boys and Girls Club in her hometown, Trenton, NJ. As a Junior Counselor, Brittany witnesses emotional, social and behavioral challenges among the children that were not being addressed due to a lack of resources. This experience fueled her ultimate goal of becoming a Social Worker. Years later, Brittany obtained a Bachelors in Family and Child Studies from Montclair State University. She learned specific tools to aid in supporting our youth. Then, continuing her education at Rutgers University Brittany fulfilled her dreams of obtaining a Masters in Social Work and School of Social Work certification. She is currently a School Social Worker for the Trenton Public School District. Brittany has created her own organization called Stepping into Greatness that focuses on social emotional learning for children. One of her most recent accomplishments is being the author of very own first positive self-talk coloring book for children and children’s reading book called “I Am, I Can, I Will”. While Brittany loves helping others, she enjoys spending time with her pride and joy, son Kylo. She encourages and affirms that he will be great at anything he does.
