Diane Parkhurst is a poet, a cancer survivor, and the author of the A Poetry
Trip Series.
In October of 2020, Diane was diagnosed with Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Cancer. Shortly after her diagnosis, she began receiving God-give poetry. God gave her words when she needed them most, carrying her through fear, grief, and treatment. She carried pen and paper everywhere. The disease continued; the poems kept coming.
In October 2022, she received a second diagnosis: B-cell lymphoma. Through radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy, she kept writing what God gave her.
Her first two books--My Poetry Trip Through Cancer and My Poetry Trip Through Recovery both published by Wipf and Stock--are the record of that journey. Faith poetry from inside the furnace and God was with her every step of the way. Readers who have walked that road with her know exactly where she has been.
Anchored In His Attributes, her third book, is the devotional that grew from everything she lived and wrote. One hundred days anchored in the attributes of God, written by someone who needed that anchor herself.
Diane and her husband David have been married 36 years. She is a wife, a mother, an Oma, and a Whipple Warrior. She posts daily poems on her blog and on Facebook
