Ryan Donohue is considered a thought leader in the realm of healthcare consumerism. For nearly two decades, Ryan has studied the advance of consumerism and its implications for those who provide healthcare. Ryan currently serves as a Strategic Advisor and Solutions Expert for NRC Health - the largest surveyor of healthcare consumers in the US. Ryan also serves as a Faculty Member of the The Governance Institute - the largest governance resource for the boards of US hospitals, health systems, and physical practices.
Ryan leads NRC Health's exploratory instruments, searching for interesting trends, mapping consumer sentiment, and attempting to understand what it's like to be a patient in today's healthcare environs. He has partnered extensively with US healthcare organizations - big and small - to better understand and plan for an increasingly consumer-centric landscape.
Ryan has shared his insights with national, regional, and state-based associations and authored many publications on the topics of healthcare consumerism, brand strategy, and patient engagement. His latest research has culminated in the book "Patient No Longer" published via Health Administration Press, a division of American College of Healthcare Executives. Ryan and his wife Andrea have four wonderful, strong-willed children ages 10 and younger and reside in Lincoln, Nebraska.
