María Concepción Torres Díaz

MARÍA CONCEPCIÓN TORRES DÍAZ holds a PhD in Law. She is a tenured university professor (accredited) in the area of Constitutional Law in the Department of State Legal Studies (Faculty of Law) at the University of Alicante. Currently, she is exclusively dedicated to teaching and research. She is an expert in constitutional justice, transparency and political participation, bioethics, biorights and biopower, information and communication rights and technologies, AI, etc. Special mention should be made of her research and legal studies on equality and non-discrimination, regulatory effectiveness, anti-discrimination protection, feminist jurisprudence, and the sex-gender perspective as a legal methodology. Feminist jurist. Member no. 4337 of the Murcia Bar Association (ICAMUR) since September 2002. She has been a lawyer and legal advisor for twenty-one years (2003-2024), having combined her professional activity as a lawyer in her own office with university teaching and research as an associate professor at the University of Alicante and as an external collaborating professor at the UNED-UJI for fifteen years (2008-2023). Since 2021, she has been a researcher at the University Institute for Gender Studies Research (IUIEG) at the University of Alicante.

Her professional and teaching-research activity has been developing for more than twenty years in the following areas: (a) University lecturer and researcher since 2008. She has extensive teaching and research experience spanning more than sixteen years at the University of Alicante, as well as the UNED and the UJI. Author of numerous scientific articles published in scientific journals, book chapters, monographs, etc. She has given more than 250 presentations and lectures at international and national conferences and seminars (2008-present); (b) Independent professional in the practice of law and legal advice (2003-2024); (c) She has held the position of Director on the Board of Directors of a commercial company; (d) She has worked in the banking sector (2001-02); and (e) She has been a scientific-legal disseminator and legal analyst in various general media outlets from 2014 to the present.
