Tetsuo Sawada

I was born in 1931, the son of a milk merchant in the tiny farming village of Motowakuyamura in Miyagi prefecture.

During my childhood, I was full of curiosity and wanted to know everything. I used to follow my busy working mother around asking her endless questions.

She said “How curious you are about everything! When you grow up, you should think about something bigger and dedicate it to the people of the world not just Japanese.”

I’m not sure if I was influenced by her words, but I started thinking about the universe, earth and human beings and have been searching for the solutions to the challenges we are currently facing.

One of my key concerns was to determine how to best protect Tokyo from being destroyed due to fire resulting from an earthquake directly beneath the capital, so I ran once for the House of Representatives in Tokyo.

Human evolution is the most important issue I have been researching for decades and that is exactly what I emphasize in the book “Japan’s Direction, the world’s direction.”

Even though I am now 90 years old, I still have lots of energy and even ran as a torch runner for The Tokyo Olympics on June 19, 2021.

Currently, I’m writing a new book about population explosion, global warming, atomic war, the abduction of Japanese citizens by North Korea and the measures needed to make the world come together as one nation.

It will be published in 2022.
