Varan Merten

Varan Merten is the author of The Hydra, the first in “The Hercules Cycle” books. His works seek to retell these timeless myths while including details often overlooked or providing unexpected twists to keep things fresh. Mr. Merten finds Greek Myths to be perfect reflections of our modern lives – they are both old and new, heroic and tragic, and with surprises around every turn.

When not writing, Mr. Merten indulges his interests in zoology, language, and philosophy. If pressed, he can and will speak on these topics until acted upon by an outside force. The Hydra is his first book. There will be more.
