Adrian Beeden was born, raised and lives in Nottinghamshire, England. He is married with three children.
Adrian started doodling as a young child, developed this skill during Maths lessons at school, and continued the practice during many boring meetings at work. Adrian now spends his days visiting schools where he reads his books, holds drawing and writing classes and answers all sorts of questions.
Adrian was inspired to write stories firstly by his now teenage daughter’s requests to “Tell me a story with your mouth Dad!”- meaning make up a bedtime story, and secondly by his son’s love of books at any time of day. This has led to the publication of his first book, Alfred and the Race Car. There are currently five Alfred Tortoise stories.
When not writing and illustrating further Alfred books, Adrian spends his time trying to avoid the biscuit tin.
