Robert Kelly

Born at home during a winter storm (his mother, Viola Belle, would have something to say about this event for years to come), Robert Lee Kelly grew up reading, preferably in a favorite corner of the family’s communal kitchen. His choice of reading material varied, but stories of heroic dogs and steadfast pioneers captured his young imagination.

A product of a parochial education, he thrived in the classroom, his promise as a student and later as a teacher revealing a wide-ranging humanity, if hesitant and mysterious.

Kelly lives with dogs and a cat in a century-old house in his home town of Fort Wayne, Indiana; his window to the world seen through familiar rooms, up tree-lined streets, down crowded school hallways, and on the forever students’ faces looking up, seeking the truth.
