Peppur Chambers

Peppur Chambers is an international writer/producer/educator and the founder of Brown Betties, a women’s empowerment brand where, via workshops (Be Your Own Bettie), books (Harlem’s Awakening, Knowing Your NO) and more, she teaches women how to be.

Selected for the 2019 Squire Foundation Artist in Residence Program, she’s writing a speculative fiction novel based on her short story “Ancestry.com” published online and in print in Boned: Every Which Way (Spaceboy Books 2018). She’s also completing the second installment to Harlem’s Awakening, currently titled, Harlem’s Last Dance.

Her original plays have been produced in Los Angeles, New York and Prague. Her most recent, “F/K/A Meridian” was a semi-finalist for the 2022 O’Neill.

A former Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks NBA dancer, a Marquette University grad and Kenosha, WI native, she currently lives in Arizona with her husband, Matthew and their two dogs, Molly and Vivian.
