Kim Idol

A writer/instructor, and writing coach currently working at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. Kim is partial to dogs, books, movies, good friends and laughter, She is also an avid rock-climber and trekker and has spent much of her life traveling.

She prefers traveling rough. One backpack, one round trip ticket (in and out of the biggest airport in the area) and that's all she needs. She has spent the last few years in the Middle East and in Asia. Nepal is her particular place of interest. She has visited that country more than once because she adores the Nepalese jungle, the wildlife, mountain trekking and the people she's met there. She loves wilderness and the untouched outdoors experiences in general though they are getting harder and harder to find.

Her stories and articles have been published in Popular Culture Review, Portland Review, online ToastedCheese, Dead Neon, Helen: A Literary Journal, an article about heroism in the Bhagavad Gita being published by W. W. Norton and Co. (Sing, Goddess) and another about Caleb Carr’s Alienist books being published in a Lab Lit collection.

Her memoir How Did I Get Here about trekking Nepal and working in the elephant stables is also available on Amazon and on Barnes & Noble sites. She has also finished a collection of short stories, Script of a Bad Year (about recovery from emotional disaster) which will be the next Amazon project.
